24x7 as a Service |
|
Hi,
at the moment we use version 5.0 of the 24x7 multiplatform edition. Its not a trial version.
Running on MS Server 2003 R2
in a former version of 24x7 was a menue option to let the program simple run as a service.
I cant find this option anymore.
Is the a simple way to start 24x7 anymore as a background service (starting automatic, when starting the server) ?
A step by step explanation would be great.
Thanks
Dominik

Please read the manual. there is a chapter dedicated to setting up 24x7 Windows service.
Here are some hints, to setup it to run under local system account, simply run
24x7srv.exe /install
If your license is covered by support and maintenance, consider upgrading to version 5.1. The 5.1 graphical setup can install for you both the scheduler and the web console services.

Thank you.
I've installed it now as an service.
The service is started but nothing happens.
I've created a Job running every 5min.
Starting the normal graphical program - the job is running every 5min and i see the Result + JobLog + OutPutFile.out
Now i leave the graphical program und start the service.
But there is no Result, no JobLog, no OutPutFile.out
What can i do to see the reason?

I think the service is not starting properly. When the service is starting it is always adding a new record to scheduler.log and debug.log files.
Please try re installing the service using 24x7 graphical setup and restarting the machine.
