"Loading of Object Explorer add-in failed. " |
|
"... ERROR: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocationl"
This started when I loaded the trial for SQL Assistant. I thought it would go away once I got my license but it did not. It did not happend for the three or four days that SQL Assistant was not operational due to expired trial period.
Lenovo W530, 64bit, Windows 7.
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.2100.60
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 11.0.2100.60
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.18052
Operating System 6.1.7601
Once I click past the error message, SQL Assistant appears to perform normally.
How do we get rid of this message??

I guess it doesn't perform normally. It only works in the editor, but no SQL Assistant menus appears in the Object Explorer (the left part of SSMS)
My guess, you need to start SSMS in run as Administrator mode to get that error go away.

Can you please clarify that? Which drop-down menu bar? When in the Object Explorer in SSMs you right-click a database or a table, do you see "SQL Assistant" menu item in the right-click menu?
