JS ver 4.1, jobs triggered by an incoming FTP on remote serv |
|
I have a dedicated FTP server for all FTP activities. I want to have JS trigger jobs upon receipt of incoming files on the FTP server. I will have several hundred files. Can I have a job triggered by a file located on another machine? Can JS monitor the other machine without having JS on the FTP machine?

You can use file name wildcards in FTP operations but you would need to rename or delete files on the FTP server after processing otherwise the script will find them again and again.
You don't need 24x7 on the FTP server ("JS" standards for "JavaScript" job), it can be executed from any other machine provided that a network connection to the FTP server is available.
