How to run shell scripts on remote agents |
|
We installed 24x7 evaluation version 4.4 on a windows 2003 server and an agent on HPUX machine. We are able to run job of type Program invoking already written script residing on the HPUX machine. However, when i run a job of type Script (Batch Script - Platform Dependent) with just a command like ls or cd, it returns error. I checked the remote agent's log and found the following message:
"Unable to create to create batch file..."
Is this any problem with permission of folders? The Queue folder and [default] is with full permission (777). Please let me know how to resolve this.

The user account running 24x7 Agent on your HP system should have full permissions for the agent's installation directory and subdirectories (should own them).
The user account running the job should have read/write permissions for log files in the agent installation directory and full permissions for [default] subdirectory (that's your HP system again). This is where the job will need to create temporary work files.
The user account running 24x7 Scheduler on your Windows 2003 system should have full permissions for the scheduler's installation folder.
Hope this helps.

Thank you.
The problem has been resolved by giving appropriate permissions in our HP-UX machine.
