Escape character in Multi Platform Version |
|
In windows scheduler v3.x, I use to be able to set the escape character where I would specify it to be the pipe ("|"). Now in multiplatform version, it seems like that option has gone away and it will always be the backslash. Is that correct?

You can still change it directly in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\SpecialASCIIChar
This is string type value. You can chnage it to | or anything else you want.
Hope this helps.

I thought the multiplatform edition no longer stores nor uses the registry for settings. According to your response, it still does? Please confirm. Thanks.

That's correct.
But the legacy JAL engine still does. As far as JAL engine is concerned, everything is the same as in the Windows version, that's why it is fully compatible.
