Performance Issue with XML |
|
SSMS 2008 becomes unusable if I have a result that contains XML. I have to disable SQL Assistant. I have syntax and spell checking disabled.

Would you please explain what you mean by "unsuable?"
What does retrieving XML results using SSMS have to do with SQL Assistant?

Unresponsive, slow, typing faster than the text will display.
idk what it has to do with SQL Assistant but if I disable SQL Assistant SSMS starts working correctly. I assume its parsing the large xml results (execution plans) or something

Do you mean typing in XML window or typing in SQL editor window?
Which version of SQL Assistant is that?

I am using 5.0 the latest build. I am selecting columns that are of type XML. If you click on these it opens the XML in a window.
I mean typing in the SQL editor. Everything is slow. Even if I am typing standard t-sql.
