Fail a running job after a delay |
|
Hi There,
I have a server that sometimes crashes and I need to capture this.
I was thinking of writing a script that would ssh to the box and if it does not return withing a certain amount of time, I know the box is hung.
Is there anyway in the scheduler to fail the job say after 2 minutes?
Thanks,
Sean

Sure, you can use the job Timeout job property for this purpose. Please make the job to run detached, so that the process can be easily terminated on timeout. You can also set job notification action for Error event, to get an email alert, or to run some sort of automated fix-it action, like remote server restart, etc…

Hi there,
I tried setting the timeout in the web gui, but the change does not take.
You may want to issue this as a bug or look into it.
Thanks.
