2 instances of scheduler on same box.

Hi We are looking to upgrad our scheudler, but want to bring up an instance so we can do some testing before we cut over to the new instance.

As long as the port numbers are different, can we run 2 instances (master) on the same box?

What about agents as well?

Yes, you can. Copy all files from the existing instance installation directory to a different directory on the same server. In the target directory update preferences.xml and change 2 things: port numbers and job database file path. That's it. The second instance can be started..

Please keep in mind, that if your jobs update or delete files and refer to files using their full path, your second instance would compete for these files too.

I will probably install the new version first establish the port numbers and agents and make sure everything works, then copy files over for migration and testing.
