24x7 installed as an non-admin service? |
|
Can 24x7 be installed as a non-administrator privilege service?
Its only to be used to scan log files for completion and other similar activities
and not to start/stop processes.
Thanks!
Regards,
Michael

Yes, you can use non-admin account to run the service. Please note that the account security limits not what 24x7 can or cannot do, but what you can or cannot run from a service.

wow that was fast! :)
Thanks! Noted.. some customer wanted minimum changes to their bunch of 16 servers. So
intending the keep windows scheduler and just run 24x7 to check for log files and status of various
transactions.
