Remote Control Questions |
|
I have now installed the Remote Control software on a PC and connected remotly to my master scheduler but I have two issues.
1) Their seems to be a bug when jobs are dynamically created in the dynamic queue you can see these in the remote control but when the jobs are deleted from the dynamic queue by the master scheduler (via the API) the jobs are not removed in the remote agent view even when you press the refresh button.
2) Do I have to purchase another licence just to run the remote control software to monitor my master scheduler?
3) Can you confirm that the RESTRICT.LST works as it always seems to be ignored when I put it on the remote agents. I have tested it by putting an invalid serial number (instead of 2 as the last digit I put 1) and it still allowed the connection from my master scheduler even after restarting the remote agent.
Thanks.

Hi there,
1) The Refresh button only reloads logs for the selected job. For performance reasons the Remote Control doesn't resync with the remote scheduler automatically instead relying on the local cache of job definitions. To refresh everything, click File/Attach to Remote Host menu. This will make the Remote Control to reconnect to the scheduler and refresh all internal caches, including jobs and folders.
2) Well the Remote Control is not a separate software piece. It is the same software that use to run the scheduler, just started in a different run-mode. Different internal components are activated in different modes. A separate license is needed for every installation.
3) Yes, this should work. Please verify there are no trailing or leading spaces before each serial number (a.k.a. license key number) in that file and every line ends with CR LF pair of symbols which is a standard Windows end-of-line marker.
