Feature request: slide weekly job on holiday |
|
I'd like to be able to slide a weekly job to run the following day if its scheduled day falls on a holiday. e.g. I have a job scheduled to run every Monday. On Easter Monday I want it to instead run on the Tuesday.
This feature currently only appears to be available for monthly jobs. (I guess I could create 5 monthly jobs but that's pretty messy.)

BTW, the docs state weekly jobs can 'Skip Job On Holiday' but this option doesn't appear for me (and wouldn't help in this case).

Hi,
One possible solution in this case is to create an inclusion calendar and specify dates when you want to run this job. That could be any irregular schedule. Set the job to run daily, every day, don't skip anything and don't slide anything. Assign the job to the previously created calendar.
You end up with a single job; and the created calendar can be shared with other jobs too, so you need to set it up only once. This method requires more than 1 click, for the "slide" checkbox, but it works.

Thanks, I might end up doing this, though it does mean 7 calendars--one for each day of the week.
