Rights to Server needed for Remote Control |
|
Hallo,
we are trying to Remote Control a 24x7 Scheduler Windows Edition 3.5.2 (installed on Windows 2003 Server R2 Service Pack 2) from a User Account with no Windows Rights to the Server. The User is a restricted User in 24x7 Scheduler. He can see all Job Definitions but not the Job logs.
Which rights does the user need to the Windows Server to see the Job logs?
Kind Regards
Christian

AFAIK, restricted users have no access to the Tools menu items, including Log Viewer, they can only see logs for their own jobs when they click on the job and then activate Log page for that job. User rights need to be elevated to power users to gain access to the Tools items.
An alternative it to allow them accessing HTML based logs. You configure 24x7 to generate HTML status reports which is a web based presentation of job logs and set it to write logs to a public network share. Or better write html files locally and then periodically copy them to the network share using regular batch job, which will insulate 24x7 main application from the network connectivity issues. In this case, users don't need remote control, they only need a web browser to access logs and monitor job execution.
