DB Mail Connection problems |
|
I am running SQL 2005 on Win serv 2003 and have localy installed DB mail on our SQL srv after running the install i tried to run the database setup but kept getting the DBMS MSS error so i skiped and created ODBC. After configuring DB Mail it looked as tough it connected but then received the following. What am i missing. I am currently using the trial and if i can get this to work i will be purchasing.
Select error: SQLSTATE = S0002
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'master.dbmail.pipe'.
Thanks

It sounds like you didn't install the required tables and procedures in the database.
See DB Mail Quick Start Guide http://www.softtreetech.com/dbmail/db_mail25_start.pdf chapter "What you need to install" -> "Back-end installation" -> "Microsoft SQL Server" This should guide you through the DB Mail installation process, which is quite simple.

I tried but keep getting
Unable to locate component
NTWDBLIB.dll was not found
and then
Error connecting to database.
DBMS MSS is not supported in your current installation.
I copied the xp_dbmail.dll to its appropriate folder and when i hit next i get the above.

Please change the connection to ODBC and pick an ODBC profile for the database server you want to connect to. After you successfully connect, finish the required installation steps.
