Post Problems with date editor on GUI Reply with quote
When scheduling a job, for example using the All Day schedule, via the 24x7 Scheduler GUI, I'm having trouble entering the end date. By default, it comes up as 1/1/00. I want to set it to 11/11/08 but when I type '1' the cursor moves to the day portion of the date, then when I type the second '1' it moves to the year portion, so typing four ones gives me a date of 1/1/11.

If instead I use the up arrow to toggle the month up to 11 so that now the date box reads 11/1/00, I cannot set the day part to 11. If I hit tab to move from month to day, the cursor moves to the End Time entry box, so that doesn't work. If instead of hitting tab I click to the right of the day digit (i.e. 11/1|/00) and then click the up arrow again, it still increments the month, not the day. If I type 1 instead of clicking the up arrow, the cursor moves to the year field, leaving the day set at 1 and causing the next digit to affect the year.

What is the recommended way of entering dates in the schedule that gets around these problems?

Weird. Please do me a favor, place the cursor before the first digit and using arrows spin the month value to 11, then place the cursor after first / and spin the day value to 11, then same for year . Does it work this way or does it jump over to the next part after hitting 9?

BTW, you can also use navigation keys (Arrow up and down) to do the spinning. Hope this helps.

This works, thank you.

How do I file a bug report/enhancement request so that I can type the date in using numbers?

Please provide the following information
1. Type and version of the operation system
2. Exact java version. You can see it in the Help/About menu
3. Version of 24x7.
4. (already available) Description of the issue and steps to reproduce

I'll file it in the tracking system for further investigation.
