Audit usernames in ASP.Net Applications |
|
Hello ,
I am considering your product however we have ASP.Net applications which authenticate users against a SQL Data store and not the server . That is the users do not have a NT login or Sql Login. Does your product handle this type of scenario?

Your application still somehow connects to the database and there are only 2 choices Windows or SQL authentication. As far as I understand, the application authenticates every user and then uses some kind of "super user" login to connect to the database. In this scenario, if the application maintains or can maintain the user login log, you can use DB Audits user name mapping feature to link audit trails to application logs and grab real names from there.

Another option not mentioned is that in SQL Server you have created a login for the Windows user group. As a result any member of that group is able to login to SQL Server.
