Remote Job Failing to Run |
|
Here is a quick overview of my architecture: Client is my windows workstation running 24x7 remote control. Server A is my master scheduler, running in the foreground with distributed server mode enabled, Server B is my application server running 24x7 as a remote agent service.
I have a simple job on Server A scheduler whose host is set to Server B. It works fine if I run it from Server A. When I try to run it from my client, it asks if I want to run Local or Remote, I choose remote and it fails to run. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Running 24x7 Scheduler version 3.4.24
Thanks,
Jeff

In this context "Local" means running the job on the computer job local to the Remote Control, which is your workstation, "Remote" means running it on the remote commuter the Remote Control is connected to, which is your server B running the master scheduler. You cannot use the Remote Control to run such job in "Run Now" mode. To force this job to run you can change its start time and let it start on schedule.
Just in case, the web based 24x7 Management Console is a true client. When you click Run now button in the web console, you make the job to start on the server and execute on whatever computer it is assigned to.
