Post RA_Server AIX Reply with quote

I have started the RA server on my AIX server

interactivily as a non root user

(ie. I have it running in a SSH window)

When I send the RA Server a job the SSH session

running the RA server prompts for the user password.

If I give it the password the job completes successfully

if not it just hangs.

Thanks,

John

Interesting...

what do you get in the ra_server.log (syslog or whatever you use for the log)?

how long did you wait? does it timeout after 10 minutes?

Also, it is a good idea to run such job detached so it can be easily killed and affect the scheduler process.

This looks ok. Is that what you get when sending the password or when not sending it?

That is what I get when I am prompted for the

password.

On another note I started the RA_SERVER as the root

user rahter then the wm user. As the root user

it doesn't prompt me for a password and works fine.

Another Test:

With the RA_SERVER running in the ROOT context I

did an RAConnect as my WM user ID and did n

RARun piping a SET command to a file.

The script ran fine and when I looked at the file

it gave me the WM user's enviroment

(Path, classpath, oracle_home, etc)

It kind of looks like I just need to run the

server as ROOT and everything is fine.
