Popup not dismissing with Esc in Ultraedit |
|
On WinXP SP2, against SQL 2000, SQL Assistant works fairly well in UltraEdit 12. However, for some reason the popups do not dismiss with the Esc key, as they do in ISQLW.

It is because the ESC key is used by UltraEdit as a hot-key and it captures this key first and removes it from the keyboard buffer. In other words, the ESC key press doesn't reach SQL Assistant. The only possible option to “fix” it is to configure UltraEdit not to use ESC for something else. I don’t know if that is possible as I’ve never used UltraEdit.

The Esc key is not explicitly mapped in my UltraEdit installation. I will experiment with some other options and see if I can find a way to get the keypress to pass through.
