popup on edit, when next symbol exists after i-ray

In theory this could be added as a settings in the options controlling the behavior, but I don't think this particular case is a good example. What if you want to insert column name as part of the expression. If the popup were disabled in this case, you would need to force it using Ctrl+Space hot key – using two hands. In comparison, if you want to dismiss the popup, you can press the Esc key (one hand only) or if you continue typing it will disappear automatically. What do you think?
