If you don't have a pro package for flow charting like Visio, you can use any MS Word version for the task. Diagramming tools are built-in. Just draw different shapes and use connectors or lines to link them. Text labels can be inserted or text boxes added as needed. On the other hand, the 24x7 Scheduler includes built-in workflow charting capabilities, look for Dependecies Editor. However the latest requires that first create jobs and then link them into streams and trees using this graphical tool : We are considering looking at 24x7 for Automation. : One thing that would help us even prepare is some sort of job dependancy / : job flow software. : Obviously we could use Visio. I really would prefer not to go that route. : Does anyone know what this kind of software is called? : I have been trying to Google terms which I would think fit the bill, but I am : having no luck. At this point, before we perform any Automation steps, we : need to diagram the Interdependacies for the Operators running the Cycle. : I guess I am looking for something like the Job Interdependancy Editor built : into 24x7. Even better would be software where I enter the dependancies, : and the Operators could click on when a Job is done and know what they can : run next. That would allow us to more easily integrate something like : 24x7. : John
