Post scheduling non root jobs Reply with quote

Have installed the eval java version of automation suite on a linux (Fedora) host.
Can create/run jobs as root just fine. How do I create a job to run as a non root user on the same host?
In the job creation wizard, i cannot enter a password, i cannot tab past username. Perl-Authen seems to be installed fine.
Pam module is in the /etc directory. auth.pl script works.
I can run the job as root by ignoring the username/password set up. Can you point me to docs for doing this or let me know what I've done wrong.

And why you cannot enter password? Is the property disabled? Which Java version are you running?

I am running Version 5 (1.5.0_03). This is the out of the box version that came with the Fedora release. When I check the security box, I can enter a username, but cannot tab or click on the password field, even as root. Everything else seems to run fine.

We couldn't find that issue. Where are trying to enter the password? Which security box? Is that in job properties or somewhere else?

Please disregard the previous message. Here is the feedback I got from developers

You don't need to enter the password to run program jobs on the local
computer if the scheduler is run under root. To delegate user credentials only
user name is needed. The password field is only needed you are going to start the
job on another computer (another 24x7 Master Scheduler or 24x7 Remote Agent, in which case the full user authentication is performed).
