Post remotecopysettings Reply with quote

One master scheduler - Server master

multiple remote agents - A,B,C

All are using the same job database. Test connects & jobs run correctly on the various boxes

When I call remotecopysetings to copy the holiday file around.. it says the job runs ok, no errors, but the file is not actually updated.

disabling the remote agent results in an error (can't find)

is there some other trick ?

You are using an empty string or "HOLIDAYS" for the settings to tranfer. Right?

Because holidays settings are stored in a simple text file you can also try the following:
FileTransfer "agent name", "@V"24x7_home"\\holiday.txt", "@V"24x7_home"\\holiday.txt"

: One master scheduler - Server master

: multiple remote agents - A,B,C

: All are using the same job database. Test connects & jobs run correctly
: on the various boxes

: When I call remotecopysetings to copy the holiday file around.. it says the
: job runs ok, no errors, but the file is not actually updated.

: disabling the remote agent results in an error (can't find)

: is there some other trick ?

Well, I am transfering db profiles, script library, etc, as well as holiday files. Is there any reason why the built in functionality would fail
? I would rather use this handy built-in replication method.

You didn't mention you get an error. What is that error then?

thats the crux of it. There is no error. But the replication didn't work. I can force an error by shutting down the remote agent.. but thats the only response I can get.

Try this:
1. On the agent computer in the Tools/Options menu Log page check "Trace Enabled" option.
2. Shutdown the agent and then delete agent.log and master.log files from 24x7 home dir.
3. Restart the agent again and run the replication again.
4. Please let us know what you get in the master.log log file.

Note: Before posting the log remove or mask sensitive data like IP addresses and passwords
