Post Outlook SP-3 Reply with quote

Since Migrating to Outlook 2000 SP-3 I now receive a pop up window when I try and send an automated E-mail.

The pop up window asks a Y/N question asking if it is ok to send this e-mail.

Does anyone know how to get around that problem.

Search Microsoft web site for instructions on how to disable Outlook security if you want to stick with the MAPI email method.
As the best solution I recommend changing 24x7 options to use SMTP email interface that will bypass Outlook and MAPI all together.

I considered using SMTP installed on my local machine but from the help screen in 24X7 it says SMTP only supports an e-mail and it does not support sending an attachement. Is this a limatation in 24X7 or has this been changed so that an attachement can be sent using SMTP?

My actual application involves sending a file to someone who is not on my network.

This is not correct. You can send attachments using SMTP interface just as you send them now using MAPI.

Where in the help you found this reference?

Thanks for the feedback. That help topic is not very clear. It states that both MAPI and Lotus Notes email interfaces "can be used to send and receive email messages with attachments" then it says that SMTP "can only be used to send emails", but it doesn't mention attachments in that SMTP sentence. Indeed, it simply meant to say that SMTP email interface couldn't be used in job email triggers to check for incoming messages. That's all.

Anyway, I can assure you that SMTP email interface does support sending messages with attachments as well as a number of other options, which are not supported with other email interfaces, for example, html or xml emails with in-line attachments.
