Post Checking incoming Notes Mail works not... Reply with quote

Hi
I'm quite new with 24x7 Scheduler and have a problem
with it:
I use Lotus Domino Mail Server 6.5.3.
When i schedule a job with "When certain email message
is received", then it dosn't work properly. 24x7 starts
checking incoming emails and on the Domino Server i
can see 24x7 Scheduler opens a session, but 24x7 doesn't
find the prepared email. When i look on the Domino Server
with "show user" (sh user) i can see that 24x7 does not
open the appropriate mail file it should; exactly
24x7 doesn't open any database file at all!

Mail send with 24x7 Scheduler with the same Domino
server works fine!

Any suggestions? I didn't ask Softtreetech Support
because maybe i'm wrong...

Thanks for every answer!
Roman

First of all I assume you have configured 24x7 to use MAPI email interface not Notes, because MAPI is the only email interface that can be used for checking incoming messages. In order to use MAPI have Notes MAPI client installed and configured on the system running 24x7.
Second, don't enter email message filter as "exact" filter. Message always contain non-visible symbols such as spaces, end of lines, etc.., which you cannot see. To allow "like" search Add "*" symbol at the end of the subject and message text in the job properties. If that does not help try entering just "*" for the text and see if that helps.

Thanks for your response!
Well, first i tryed without MAPI. I didn't know i should use MAPI(!)
I only read the recommendation for MAPI in the help file.
Later, without success, i considered about MAPI. Because i don't know
much about MAPI, probably i made failures. However, i didn't succeed
with MAPI too.
My problem: How do i get the appropriate "Notes MAPI Client"?
I tryed to install a Lotus Notes Client (6.5.3) with support for MS Outlook or
Outlook Express etc. on the machine running 24x7, assuming that will install MAPI, but i failed too.
I tryed to install MS Office 2003 (but only Outlook), knowing that will install "something
about MAPI", again without success... :-/
Do you have any understandable instructions?

Thanks a lot for your answer and support!
Kind regards,
Roman

MAPI is already installed on your computer. MAPI is part of Windows and it is used by most windows email clients as a standard messaging interface. What you needed to install and you have probably done this already is Notes MAPI service provider support option. The Notes MAPI service provider (or Lotus Notes support) is a .dll file provided with Lotus Notes. It allows programs that require a MAPI interface, to access Lotus Notes e-mail.

I think when you installed "support for MS Outlook" it installed MAPI support.

The next thing you need to do is to configure MAPI profile for your Notes user account. Use the Mail applet in the Windows Control Panel to setup a new profile. You can then use the profile name in 24x7 to refer to your Notes email account.
