We use 24x7 here, historically on servers running as a console application, not a service.

I am experimenting with running as a service and using the remote console to administer the queues, which may solve some of our problems.

The one issue that I have at the moment is that we like to 'see' the job running. We are selecting a job (which fires of a batch file which launches some console mode applications) and choosing 'run now' from a remote console (since 'run now' is greyed out on the server's own console) but I can't get the jobs to appear visible on the console when they are run.

The service is running as localsystem, with 'can interact with desktop' rights - is there any way to make the spawned jobs visible on the desktop?

Thanks for your quick response, I'll check it out.

When you are next enhancing the product, it would be nice if the 24x7 service could have an option to do this by default :-)
