24x7 Service |
|
Hi, Im running 24x7 on another server, and connecting to taht server through windows Terminal Services. I want to get it so 24x7 runs constantly on that server, even when im logged off. I've changed the settings to run as an NT service, however when i log off or close 24x7, the scheduling stops with it, and resumes when it is open again. Is this possible? Thanks in advance Tim

I don't think this can be done from a terminal session. The purpose of terminal sevices is to provide remote application execution on a virtual Desktop. Waht you need to do is to logon to this server directly and run the install locally. For more info please see http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/technologies/terminal/default.asp : Hi, : Im running 24x7 on another server, and connecting to taht server through : windows Terminal Services. : I want to get it so 24x7 runs constantly on that server, even when im logged : off. : I've changed the settings to run as an NT service, however when i log off or : close 24x7, the scheduling stops with it, and resumes when it is open : again. : Is this possible? : Thanks in advance : Tim

Yes if it is setup under LocalSystem or domain admin account. Please be aware that LocalSystem cannot run jobs accessing any network resources (files, emails, databases, etc...). I recomend using domain admin account in case if you need to run 24x7 as service and noone is logged on. : Hi, : if the server is running, but not logged on as any particular user, will the : service still run?
