I am trying to sent traps by using SendTrap, but the jop stops with an error, and the log say that the snmp service is not started. The win 2000 snmp-service is in fact running, but the job still doesn't run. In the 24x7 help files is says that the 24x7 Snmp Extension Agent must be installed on the same machine that the trap should be sent from, but what is that? Is it a special exstension that I need to download? Please help! I am running Automation Suite v3.4.12. Thanks!

The 24x7 SNMP extension agent is optionally installed with the Scheduler if that option is checked in the setup program. The setup automatically registers it with the SNMP service. Please rerun the setup and ensure that option is checked. When the 24x7 SNMP agent starts/stops it writes an audit record to the NT application event log. Check the event log to see if the agent actually starts on that computer.
