You are trying to run 24x7 Remote Control instead of running 24x7 Scheduler, that's why it keeps prompting you for remote host. If you want manage remote 24x7 Scheduler or Agent you should install and run it on the remote computer first before you can connect to it using 24x7 Remote Control. Make sure that the remote 24x7 Scheduler runs in the server mode (Tools/Options menu; Network tab; "Distributed server mode enabled" set to yes.) In 24x7 Remote Control you must setup a connection profile in order to connect to the remote scheduler and agent. When the Remote Control starts click the New button on the profiles dialog to create a new profile. : My organization is looking for an automated task scheduler that can support : multiple profiles (ie being able to specify that this set of PC's runs on : this schedule and that set runs on a different one, etc), and that we can : also easily add new items to on a temporary or permanent basis (ie to run : an installation update for an existing application). : So far, from the descriptions, 24x7 appears to be the solution that we are : looking for. : However, the powers that be here need to see it in a test environment before : they will begin considering shelling out dollars. : I have downloaded 3.4.17 and installed it on a test PC, but it keeps asking : me for a remote host profile setup. Is the server portion not available as : part of the trial? : I know that management here will want to see the remote admin capabilities : and the like. : Any information you can provide will be appreciated!
