Post Running jobs on remote Agents Reply with quote

After configuring my master scheduler, and multiple agents, I seem to have
the same problem. Running a job on an agent only works if the job is scheduled
(by time or file existence) - which works very well - unless for some reason
I need to re-run that job manually. If I re-run the job manually using the
"Run Now" feature on the GUI - I get the follownig error message: "Failed to execute remote job. Agent connection refused."
I've gone through all the setups for the master scheduler and agents. A message in notepad appears on the Agent with License information - we have
an enterprise license - so I am very confused as to why this functionality does not work. Can you provide some insight?

Please make sure you use the correct site license key for all installations and no agent left unregistered. On the agent please verify that the about box shows correct key number and it does not say "Unregistered".

If you don't you can either re-run the setup program to re-enter the key or simply enter it direcly to the registry into the
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\Serial" value

All agents, and the master scheduler were registered correctly with the license
key we were provided with. I've uninstalled, and reinstalled 24x7 and entered the key
in again - I've verified that the agents and scheduler are registered (in the About) - and
I'm still getting the problem.

I did change value in the registry key you mentioned - it was all zeroes when I opened the registry, but
the key (the license key I just entered) is not helping the issue? Please advise.

After changing the key in the registry you need to restart the agent for it to pickup the new key.

Please make sure you have the site license key. If you attempt to use a single license key for several computers you will end up with a license sharing violation and the license.txt will popup on every attempted connection.

Please also check the job log on the agent for additional error messages and warning related to the connection problem. See schedule.log file and NT application event log.
