Post System configuration discrepancy detected Reply with quote

After upgrading to 3.4.10 I am getting the following error in the schedule.log during startup:

24x7 Scheduler System configuration discrepancy detected. The default date format differs from the format specified for the current user. You should correct "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International\sShortDate" value in the system registry.

I have edited the system registry and changed the date in the control panel but the message keeps repeating. What is the proper format? Currently I am using "MM/dd/yyyy".

The date you changed in the control panel is not the default one. It read/updates
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\sShortDate"

What the warning in the log says that
HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_USERS values should be the same otherwise the difference can cause different behavior in 24x7 running as a service or 24x7 COM control and in 24x7 running standalone. This can also affect jobs run as another user.

It does not actually matter which one you change as long as they are the same. You should use the Registry Editor to update HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT values as they are not accessible via the Control Panel.

I used the search feature and looked at every sShortDate in the registry and they are all set exactly the same "MM/dd/yyyy", but I am still getting the error message in the log.

Do you run 24x7 as a service? When you start 24x7 using an icon in the Start Menu do you still get that error?
Do you run run jobs as another user who may not have suffcient privileges to read from the registry?

I've recently started to receive this message in my log as well. It happened when I upgraded from 3.4.5 to 3.4.11 on July 23.
So what is going on?

I am not running 24x7 as a service, I always start it manually from the menu, all jobs are ran as the default user. I logged in as administrator and started 24x7 3.4.11 and I am getting the same error message in the log.

Is there any fix for this issue?

1) This is just a warning
2) The solution was provided in the first reply, here is a repeat of it:

2 pairs of values
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\sShortDate
and
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International\sShortDate

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\sTimeFormat
and
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International\sTimeFormat

must be the same and the user account running 24x7 should have access to both places in the registry.
