You need to create a phonebook entry before you can dial a number. In 24x7 you then call the specified number using the entry name rather then the phone number. Of course you can name this entry same as the number. Depending on your version of Windows you different method and place to create phonebook entries. For example in Windows NT it is being called "Phonebook entry". Double-click on My Computer and you should see an icon for Dial-Up Networking; double-click that icon then select Add new phonebook entry. In Control Panel double-click Network Connections icons then double click the New Connection icon. From there creating new connection profile is very straightforward. If you need more help press the F1 button while creating/configuring a new connection. Once you have an entry created you can use it in 24x7 to schedule and control dial-up connections using phonebook entry names. : After reading the help menus concerning dial-up, i did not see any info about : where to input the dial-up number for an ISP in order to initiate to begin : FTP transfer.
