Post 24x7 as a remote agent? Reply with quote

I'm trying to setup 24x7 as a remote agent on one of our servers and I am getting a message that says my license does not allow remote agent operation. Yet, I have what I thought was a full site license - what gives?

Do you have the 24x7 Automation Suite "site license" or 24x7 Automation Suite "single installation license"? Don't mistake "suite" and "site."

If you don't have a "site" license you would need a separate "single" license for every 24x7 installation regardless of how you run the installed software, except if you do web server integration. In the latest case you would need a site license.

Ok - now I am really confused. The instructions I got didn't specify. We purchased a site license and I received a serial to unlock the SUITE from it's 30-day trial period. So, I am not really sure. How can I check?

The SUITE is just the 3rd word in the product name. The full name is "24x7 Automation Suite."

Two standard license types are "single installation" and "site". The site license allows unlimited installations of the product on multiple computers in one geographical location (in other words, same mailing address) while single license allows installation on a single computer only.

The price is also different for different license types. If you paid around $270 you got a single license.

If you tell me what you want to automate I can help you to figure out the best configuration and number of installations/licenses you may need for the task.

I know all this - what I am saying is that we bought a site license. We paid site license money. What I am unsure of is whether the serial I received was the site license serial or an interim serial. That is now the only other explanation that I can imagine.

Please email your license serial number (do not post it here) to support@softtreetech.com and ask to verify if that a valid site license number.

If you upgraded from an older version or perhaps from a single install license check that you use the new site license number for all installations.

Ha! Got it! Thanks to reading previous posts. Apparently the install had reported a registry update error (that I forgot to add in my initial post) and when I looked for that value for "Type" mentioned prevoiusly, it wasn't there. I added it and all is now well.

But, thanks very much for your help.
