Post Run Script on Notification Event, bug??? Reply with quote

Hi,

I'm evaluating 24x7 v3.3.0, and I wanted to run a script (using JAL) for one of the notification events, and the script option does not seem to do anything.

As an example, I set up a VERY SIMPLE job with the following properties:

Step 1: I select RUN PROGRAM
Step 2: Command Line: CMD (for the command prompt)
(accepted all defaults for next screens)
Step 6: Run this job: [ALL DAY]
Step 7: Repeat every: 00:01, (also made sure start dates were in range)
Step 8: For notification events I selected: JOB START. For notification actions I selected: RUN SCRIPT.
Step 9: For the script, I selected: JAL, and the actual script was one line of code: MessageBox("abc")
(accepted all defaults for rest of the screens)

I saved the script, and when I run the job, nothing happens. The command window doesn't appear, and the notificaiton script isn't either. If I switch to an email notification instead of a script notificaiton, then all works fine.

Is this a bug? What is wrong? I like this program so far, but this seems like a bug.

Thanks in advace,
Robert

There is a bug in v3.3.0 that prevents execution of scripts in notification actions. Please upgrade to 3.3.1 http://www.softtreetech.com/download/247upg.exe
