Hi,

I try to use email trigger do launch a problem, and dont work. I saw the same problem in forum, and i try to do the same steps listed in forum, but the schedule dont work, and dont appear any information in log for help me. Have any ideias to resolve this problem ? Actualy, i use 2.4.15 version with Microsoft Outlook 2000.

If your problem is email trigger not firing the job try adding asterisk * to the end of the subject and message text that you have specified in the trigger definition. This symbol is used as a wildcard and will allow "LIKE" comparisons. This way all invisible characters (spaces, tabs, end-of lines, etc...) at the end of the subject and message can be ignored. If you get HTML formated messages asl odd * in front of the subject and text.

Hi,

i try to describe all steps to create a jog trigger with e-mail watch. My first step, is checking in option menu, the configuration abou e-mail, and i use (E-mail interfrace) MAPI with By Address in (Send Method). When i check this information, i create a new job template, and a new job schedule.

In wizard to create a new job, in the 1 to 11 step, i check the fist option (Run Program or document file) and click next,
2 step - in text box (command line), i put c:\winnt\notepad.exe, and in 2 textbox i put (start in) c:\
3 step - (Windows Size) Normal Windows, (Assynchronous process) unchecked, (Send KeyStroke - Unchecked
4 step - (Run this job) - When certain email message arrives
5 stp - (Account) - Outlook 2000 User Profile, (Password) - My Autentication Outlook password, (Subject) - *TEST*, (TEXT) - *TEST*, (Every) 1 minute
6 step - The option, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is checked
7 step - (Account) - Outlook 2000 User Profile, (Password) - My Autentication Outlook password, (Recipient) - jocio.morais@lis1.siemens.pt
8 step - The option 1 and 2 is unchecked
9 step - (Host) - Local
10 step - (Skip this job delay...) - 10 minutes
11 step - blank
an click finish

Well, when i send a message with the following information

Subject : TEST
Text Message : TEST

or

Subject : TESTE
Text Message : TESTE

Nothing happened, and the e-mail triggers dont start, and none information log appears.

I hope this all information can help, to resolver my problem.

Because you use Outlook you can do the following test:

Keep 24x7 running maximized.

Open Outlook but not in a full Window so you can see behind it the bottom portion of 24x7 window (the status bar).

Send to yourself several different messages with "TEST" and non-"TEST" subject and switch to Inbox. The new messages should arrive shortly and be displayed in bold.

Watch messages in the 24x7 status bar. In a minute or faster it should say "Checking incoming email" and you should also see how your new messages turn from bold to non-bold text meaning their status changes from "not read" to "read". If that happens the trigger is working, but not finding your TEST messages, otherwise there is something wrong with the job setup, perhaps you have selected a wrong MAPI profile.

If the trigger is working, but not finding your message try specifying just * for the message text in the trigger definition.

Hi again,

I saw in status bar 27x7 Schedule "Check incoming e-mail" but in my Inbox the message still all the time BOLD (not read), i was change the configuratio trigger and put in subject * and text message *, and send again new message and dont fixed the problem. I just have only 1 profile in my Outlook, and this profile i created to connect a Exchange Server for checking my mailbox. Have any ideia for to fix this problem.

That sounds like 24x7 is unable to read messages in the Inbox. Please check the full job log schedule.log for any errors like "Mail login failed" or similar.

By the way, which Windows, Outlook and 24x7 versions you have?

I created a NT Service (in option menu) with my network user (Network Administrator), and when i send a e-mail for launch this bat file, and nothing happened.

I use a version 2.4.15 with Windows 2000. How can i fix this problem ????

NT services have very limited access to network resources, including MAPI email.

E-mail triggers do not work when 24x7 is running as a service because 24x7 cannot use MAPI.
