Post Significance of the '//', '/', '\' Reply with quote

Please explain the significance and useage of '\\', '/', '\'. I recently upgraded to Automation Suite and have had to change the scripting. Also, the Job Monitor indicates numerous runs of jobs that are not scheduled and that does not coincide with the Job Log. Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance - Robert

You didn't have to change the scripting. You could simply turn off or change the escape symbol as specified in Tools/Options.

There is nothing special about '/'. The backslash '\' symbol is used by default (unless changed in Tools/Options) as an escape character that allows entering special ASCII symbols in text literals. For the complete list of special characters and their combinations please see "Special ASCII Characters" topic in the on-line help file.

Please rely on the Job Log for exact information of what and when was run. The Job Monitor only attempts to represent job runs as a flat list where indeed multiple job can run simultaneously, jobs can be modified while running and multiple asynchronous instances of the same job can run at the same time. If you believe you have found a bug in the Job Monitor please email relevant information to support@softtreetech.com so it can be analyzed and the bug fixed.
