Post Mailsend - Logon failed Reply with quote

Hi , I am using the mailsend command with the MAPI INTERFACE in a few jobs, it's works ok but only for 4 or 5 days , after that, it starts to fail, giving the follow message "Sending mail fails, Logon failed".

I know that anybody touch anything on the configuration.

Any suggestions

It sound like a problem with your MAPI email client?

Can you send email from your email client after "Logon failed" error.
Does sending email from your email client after "Logon failed" error restore 24x7 mail functions?
Is your email or network server restarted on weekeneds?
How much free memory do you have on your computer?
Do you have lots of undeleted temp. files in your C:\TEMP directory (or whatever the temp directory is)?

One more question. Does the problem occur if you keep your email client running all the time?

Note that the email client will keep restoring email server connection every X minutes (actual time interval depends on your client settings)

: NO

The error message you get is very generic and returned by MAPI whenever it cannot log user in. Are you sure that 24x7 cannot send MAPI emails from any job? Maybe just one job has incorrect "profile name/password" setup and this is causing the error? Are there other related or unrelated errors in the log before "MAPI Logon Failed" error?

Yes it don't work with any job, there isn't another error message. I think that is something wrong with the 24x7's , last time i reported here an error with the html status report generator, was an error like this , it was working ok and one day stoped to generate , we must had to restart 24x7 (we never resolved and stop to generate), is just the same case of this error.

It is a sign of some other problem(s). I recommend trying to run jobs "detached " (as mach jobs as possible) and keep monitoring free memory on the computer. Also consider upgrading to the most recent version 2.4.8 If the problem doesn't go away after settings jobs to run as detached, please open support case at support@softtreetech.com
