SA: 14 Filtered Column Picker temporary persistence? |
|
I'm not sure how else to call it.
But say I'm doing
 |
 |
select | from foo |
When the column picker popup comes up, and say I want to see everything with the word "date", I type out date and the popup filters down to the matches, I can only pick ONE of those columns before the filter falls off the column picker.
Is there a way to persist that other than to right click and "select all" even though ALL might not be my intended list?

I think what you are looking for can be achieved with
 |
 |
SELECT $COLUMNS$ |

So I'd have to build a snippet? Why would the column picker behave differently?
I'll have to test.

That one using built-in $COLUMNS$ macro supports selecting multiple columns, with optional parameters it can be instructed to add them horizontally or vertically, with additional suffixes and/or prefixes, and so on...

Darn dude! I knew it felt familiar but I figured I was gaslighting myself.
*Edit: I went back and re-read that, that's from when I first started using SQL Assistant too! dang.

Yeah, unfortunately that's not what I'm looking for here.

I will try to resurface this one and see if we can move it forward this time. There seems to be a long tail attached to that story. We looked into that a while ago but because of other priorities, it was dialed back.
