Please describe the issue correctly. "typing query in PostgreSQL" makes no sense. PostgreSQL is a database type, not an editor.

Are you typing the query in SQL Assistant SQL Editor? pgAdmin |||? pgAdmin IV? Something else?
Just in case, pgAdmin IV is not supported by SQL Assistant.

What is the full version number of pgAdmin? See Help/About window.
What happens when you're in the query editor in pgAdmin and you press Ctrl+Shift+F5?

Does it work in SQL Assistant SQL Editor?

Please install pgAdmin 1.22.1, you don't need to replace the existing one, simply install or unzip files to a new folder, and check if that works with SQL Assistant. You can find files for that version here
https://www.postgresql.org/ftp/pgadmin/pgadmin3/v1.22.1/win32/

At my end, pgAdmin 1.22.2 is supported by SA.
As far as I know 1.22.1 has some glitches when working with pg v10.

Hi all. we have actually succeeded in reproducing the issue with pgAdmin 1.22.2. It appears that on some Windows 10 systems it's not working with SQL Assistant. We expect a compatibility fix for that available sometime soon.
