[SA 9.0.166 Pro] - Custom assistance issues |
|
From time to time I notice that DB Options > SQL Assistance > SQL Server > Custom Assistance somehow gets 'corrupted'. It is reduced to a single line. It does not lose any contents, it's only the newlines that are gone and the whole shebang becomes a very long single line that still assists but it's almost impossible to modify. Comparing a corrupted .sas to a correct one in Beyond Compare shows this:
It looks as if the byte pairs used by .sas for new lines (0E0B, instead of 0D0A, I assume to not to conflict actual newlines and newlines in .sas) are replaced with 0000. Why does this happen?

I'm not sure about the cause of that issue. I have forwarded it to the support team for further investigation.

This has been confirmed as a bug in the settings merge procedure, which is used when the settings are imported from older files. We're sorry about that.
A fix for this bug will be provided in version 9.2. I don't have a specific date for that release known yet, but it's expected in weeks.
Quick update: a fix is expected by the end of next week
