Can i install on windows 8.1?

I use 24x7 scheduler 3.6 version. Can I install it on windows 8.1?
I need to upgrade window from win 7 to 8.1

The official support for version 3.x ended on December 31st, 2011. We are no longer testing it with new Windows versions and patches. I don't know if it's compatible with Windows 8.1. You should seriously consider upgrading to a more recent version 5.2.

Hi Team,

We are planning to upgrade scheduler from 3.6 to 5.2

1. Does 5.2 is compatible on windows 7 and later?
2. we weed to change the default directories?
3. Do we have support for this.

1. Yes, it's compatible with windows 7.
2. What do you mean by "default directories?"
3. Certainly not. the support for version 4.6 ended in 2012. It's 2016. But if you purchase an upgrade, you can add support and maintenance to your licenses.

For file based jobs we use below directory in 3.6 version.

C:\Program Files\24x7 Automation 3

This will change in later version?

The default installation directory is C:\24x7 but you can keep the old one. Or just copy your files over to the new one.

You can choose it as the installation path. But I'm not sure that would be a good idea to put new version into existing directory with very old legacy files, it will only create a mess there and make it difficult to maintain. Who knows what kind of conflicts it may cause.

Hi,

We installed 5.3 version in "Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard" recently.

when we are trying to connect remote hosts/agents but we are getting error "connection to remote host failed"

Please find below machine details for reference.

24x7 Scheduler Server : On "Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard"
Agents : On "Windows 7 Enterprise"

Please suggest us how to proceed.

Do you see any related messages in the schedule.log file on the agent machine? Do they explain why connection was rejected?
If nothing related comes up in the log, please check your firewall settings.

No errors were posted and Windows firewall is in Off State..

It's compatible with all Windows versions starting with Windows 7 and up.
