Problem with persistent forum login feature |
|
Sorry I write it here, but there is no dedicated subforum for such issues and SysOps has PM disabled.
To me "Log me automatically on each visit" feature should log me in automatically each time I visit the forum. But it doesn't work always as expected. Looks like logged state expires after very short time (day or so). Is this done intentionally or it is bug? Usually (on other forums) expire time is set to not force regular user to login again and again, while regular doesn't mean daily ;)
BTW, there is also error in name of the checkbox: "Log me on automatically each visit"
with regards

If you use multiple devices to log on to the site, logon from each device invalidates cookies for the other devices, that's why it may look like your logon is forgotten. That is done for security reasons. The other possibility is that your system security or antivirus are configured to erase cookies from sites that are not specifically registered. Please check your local anti-virus and security settings.

Second scenario doesn't happen
There are only two places/devices I open the forum (work or home), however very rarely from home. I will focus on to not use the forum at home. After that I will confirm if it helps.
Anyway thanks for quick response

Now I can confirm that I got logged out after 2 days. Today I opened forum using the same device.
So, definitely something is wrong. To me it looks like cookie TTL is too short (?)
