Hold job queue |
|
Hi,
Is it possible to hold an entire job queue or scheduler? For instance, in the case that there has been a system-wide issue/outage, and we need to bring the scheduler back online but prevent the backlog of jobs running immediately?
Thanks,
Richard

To stop everything at once, simply shutdown the scheduler. It will attempt to terminate all running jobs automatically and there will be no back-log after restart. What's missed is missed.
To pause a particular queue, simply pause the first job pending/ or running in the queue. It will block everything else, until that job is released.
To start the scheduler without timer and event engine enabled use NOTIMER command line parameter. In this mode you can manage and run jobs manually only.
