DB Benchmark how calculate the total. |
|
Hi,
I am using DB bench mark tool. I am passing some quires and how i come to know that, all the queries executed successfully and how it calculate the total time?
If i pass benchmark duration 2 minutes and my queries will take 5 minutes to complete the execution of all the queries and DB benchmark will run only for 2 minutes so in this case how it calculate the total time? how relevant is the test for this?

It doesn't make sense to run test for 2 minutes if you know your queries may take 5 minutes to run. Give it at least 30 minutes or more.
Since it is just a workbench, a tool for running massive amount of queries concurrently simulating effects of multiple users working with the database, it doesn't really care what the results of your queries are. It is up to you to ensure they complete successfully. In certain cases you may want them to fail.
The total time is a sum of how long all executed queries took to run.
