Error when installing Multi |
|
We currently run 24x7 windows and are looking at upgrading to multi-platform 4.2. I'm in the process of working with sales to get a new license and went ahead and tried to install the trial version.
The steps that I did:
1. uninstalled 24x7 windows
2. extracted the winzip install file
3. when I get to step 6 of 8, set up shortcuts, I get an error
4. If I go to the install path and run master.bat the windows closes
5. output from echo %JAVA_HOME% C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_14
6. also when I run master anyJVM the licensing windows popup and I can access 24x7

If your system is console-based and doesn't support graphical interface, use 'no
gui' command line parameter for text-only mode.

1. To run the 24x7 MP Edition, you will need to use JDK or JRE 1.5. Java major versions aren't fully backward or forward compatible. Version 1.6 won't do it for 24x7 MP Edition 4.x.
2. You can ignore shortcut error, this is a minor error, related to adding icons to Windows Start menu.. I don't know which library the installer cannot find or load, the error message doesn't provide enough info.
3. To see the actual error(s) reported in case of a failed startup, open command prompt and execute master.bat from command prompt, the console window will stay and the output should be visible in that window.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else

Ok. I will work on the JAVA.
When I open command prompt and run master.bat, the window just closes.

Is the output suppose to be in debug.log? I type cmd /C master.bat and it doesn't do anything.
