Code Formatting |
|
When tried customizing the SELECT format using the Code Formatting tab.
When I test the change it works great. After applying the change and format the code in Microsoft Management Studio the changes do not take effect. Do I need to do something else to apply the changes.
Thanks.

How do you open the Options dialog? Using sys tray icon for global settings, or using SQL Assistant menus in SSMS used by the plug-in?
In the latest case, your changes should have an immediate impact; otherwise, you need to restart SSMS for the new global changes to take effect.

Your suggestion worked. Thanks.
Once you make the change SSMS freezes up for a bit.
Can you tell me when you would want to change the global settings vs changing settings inside SSMS?

Changes made using sys tray application affect all registered targets. Change made using plugin also affect all targets, but they are effective immediately in the target from which the plugin is invoked. The only real difference is change visibility/timing.
The brief freezing is caused by the plugin unloading/loading itself in order to pickup new settings.
Hope this helps.
