Post General Change for scheduled time on all jobs Reply with quote
I need to make a general update on all scheduled jobs.
The current jobs were scheduled using PST. I have to move the jobs to EST.
Is there a way to make this update across all the jobs without having to go one by one?

Thanks

I don't understand why you need to make job changes. Timezone is not attribute of the the job schedule. Timezone is an attribute of the system time. If a job start time was set as 3:15 pm while the system timezone was PST and you change the system timezone to EST, this 3:15 pm time is now 3:15 EST and no changes are needed on the job level.

That is precisely why I have to make the change. The jobs can not be run at the same time in a different time zone. If a job was scheduled to run at 3:15 p.m. PST now it needs to run at 6:15 p.m. EST
All jobs will need to be adjusted for the difference in time.

Sorry if it sounds silly, but why you cannot simply set the system timezone to EST? That would be a one simple change in one place.

Aside from that, if you don't want to touch the system timezone, you can write a simple job script to add 3 hours to each job's start time. The type of script depends on the type of scheduler; use JAL for Windows version, or use JavaScript for Multiplatform version. You can also write an external script using VBScript and COM API, or write little Java program using Java API. In case you need a hint for how to do that, please describe your scheduler version and release number.

It is a consistency issue for the server configuration. Sounds silly and it is the easies solution from the Technical point of view, but not for the compliance and regulations of the company.

We are using Windows version, release 3.4.31
A hint would be greatly appreciated.
