SQL Assistant v3.5 is now available |
|
Here is what's new and changed in 3.5
1. Use of coding history is put to real work. We are sure most people will love it. It appears to save a lot of time for everybody coding same objects and procedures every day.
2. Eclipse plug-in. That's right SQL Assistant can be now used with Eclipse and derivate products. Yet, the main target in mind is Eclipse Data Tools Platform.
3. Multiple column selection lists in UPDATE and INSERT statement, checkboxes added to the column list and behave similar to SELECT column list.
4. Multiple column foreign keys are better supported in JOIN clauses. The entire JOIN with all columns can be now added with a single click.
5. New Code Bird's View – navigate long files and procedures as never before.
6. Coding statistics and productivity gain display. Some of our internal tests achieved as much as 1200% productivity gain from using SQL Assistant! Try it for yourself.
7. Added code-wrapping options to formatting rules
8. Support for batch delimiters for all environments. including parsing and support for MySQL's DELIMITER keyword and DB2'sSET TERMINATOR
9. Expanded support for Oracle objects – added code IntelliSense for types, type and package constants, exception handlers and declarations, package and type scope records
10. Added code block commenting/uncommenting function, targeted mostly for use with non-SQL editors such Notepad, UltraEdit and other editors not supporting such commonly used function natively.
11. Numerous other minor enhancements and usability changes.

really nice... |
|
Hi
That 's really nice. SQL assistant 3.5 seems quiet complete product now. Thanks for full filling my requests in short time. I as promise is recommending my clients SQL assistant. All of them are quiet impressed and as i said want more and more...
Here is some feed backs i got from my clients....
create tablespace on permanent segaments has a bug. The statement is not as in oracle documentation.
regular expression functions full support needed
another client wants regular expression creation support ( dont take him seriously) but if you add that will be really interesting.
SET transaction USE_ROLLBACK_SEGMENT rollback_segment_name. there is no under score between user and rollback and segment.
can you add the support for import, export, sql loader (please add that one) or data pump
In my last input. I suggested that if some code is written the coder place a cursor on it and get reference sql assistant should show the reference with modification done from the point the code ends.

Hi,
import/export/datapump are neither SQL or PL/SQL commands. They are typically executed manually from Unix shell, DOS command prompt or from shell/batch files. I don't think there is a place for them in SQL Assistant which is focused on providing SQL coding assistance in SQL editors and other SQL related functions.

We expect new major version 4 to be ready in October/November 2008. Some minor maintenance versions might be released before that.
