I'm getting an error when trying to start my 24x7 program.

Error starting listener port: 1096

Distributed Communications Server

Is there any ideas on why this has occurred. (it was previously running stably on this windows 2000 server).

any help appreciated.

This is because the port is in use. Perhaps you are running another instance of 24x7 running as a service or the port is blocked by your firewall.
