We are running VMware here too without major issues. The only problems we initially had here were related to various virtual server network settings and server name resolution but they weren't 24x7 specific issues. Some remote agents were setup using IP addresses and we had to update them to use machine names in order to support dynamic name resolution. Similarly we had to address some firewall issues to handle dynamic IP numbers.
