Post Security while running 24x7 as a Master Server Reply with quote

We have gone over our 30 day trial use of
the software and still have a few more
questions and problems to work out.
In the end, we'd like to run 24x7 as a
windows 2000 service on a master sever
with the users accessing it through
Remote Control 24x7.

In reading the section about Window
Services in Chapter 1: Getting Started,
Bullet #2, we have a concern about
security. IS there a way to run 24x7 as
a windows service BUT have jobs submitted
only have the rights and privilges of
the who submits them?

It's very possible that I'm misunderstand
what I am reading. My area is UNIX administartion
so I am not overly familar with window users
rights and permissions.

Thanks

Yes, it is possible to run 24x7 as a service and have jobs running under other user accounts. The proper way to do that is to utilize the 24x7 Web based management console and restrict scheduler job submission to specific templates that require users entering their user/password to submit a job and the entered user/password values will be used for the job run.
